Maui Ministers...

There are many ministers on Maui, including women and men of all denominations. There are also State Officiates available who are licensed by the State to perform marriage ceremonies. Some couples have special vows or verses that they like to include and this is usually not a problem. Please send them to us in advance if possible. Once we have reserved your minister we will be happy to send you a copy of their ceremony, at your request. Please read YOUR WEDDING VOWS. Unless you make other arrangements, these will be the vows used in your ceremony. The ceremony can be performed in Japanese or German if so desired, and although one could be flown in from Oahu, at present there is no Rabbi on Maui. However, we do have a couple of officiates that provide a very nice Jewish ceremony incorporating the usual traditions. There are several Catholic priests available but Catholic weddings must be held in a Catholic Church. The couple is required to complete the Precana classes before arriving in Hawaii. Just let us know, and we can send you a complete sheet of info to help you plan a Catholic wedding.

Most ministers and officiates will travel to any part of the island, and some may charge extra if it is a long distance. Some dress very casually and some wear robes. Traditionally, there is a Hawaiian prayer and a lei exchange incorporated into the ceremony.

If you have a preference when it comes to the minister, just let us know on the enclosed wedding checklist . We will do our best to match you up with the right person!
